TALKING POINTS @ THE MALE ROOM 2008 BY QUINCY THOMAS

As a 40 year old black male I feel this is the closest in my lifetime I will get to see a Black Man elected for President Of The United States. Barack Obama I feel has connected well with Americans and he will connect very well with leaders in other countries bringing about what we really need, CHANGE.

It wasn't too long ago that all you could hear was cheering and great remarks of the young black Senator who gave a great speech during the last Presidential Elections. From both sides, it was applauded about how charismatic this young man was, and how his speech was so riveting. Today, he is running for the highest office in the United States and now some of these same persons singing the praises have begun the assault to discredit a man based on his lack of years in the Senate.
The assault has begun on his middle name 'Hussein' and the Republicans have started the washing of the brains of how terrorist would be so happy to know Obama has been elected President Of The United States.

Are we clear here that some of these ignorant assholes representing the Republican Party in my opinion actually think that Barack Obama in any shape or form is part of a terrorist network because he happens to be in the Muslim Faith and his name is Hussein? Are we to believe these desperate acts of 'Defamation of Character', and 'Character Assassination'? Of course not and you can believe not all those who vote Republican believe this disgusting bad political tactics.

I hope that John McCain distances himself from this as he has done before because this will not help his campaign at all. Truth be told, we were suppose to go after Osama Bin Ladin, the person President Bush told the world when the attacks on American happened. The Bush Administration shifted their attention from this man and made the late Saddam Hussein their priority. No one talks about how Americans were bamboozled, those who lost their lives during the attacks on American still has no justice, all because our Government focused their attention on Saddam the man our President DID NOT NAME AS THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR SO MANY LIVES LOST.

American's you can now wipe the spit off your face, you can now be prepared to stop smelling the bullshit that has been tossed about us for so long now because there is change and it's gonna happen, I strongly feel this. Obama did not vote for this war, Obama will pull us out of this war, positive foreign relations will be more in forward progress, and America will be restored to a more respectable status.

So many people talk about experience in terms of years but your experience is brought about when you align yourself with positive people, you grow from your mistakes and situations in life. Do you know that some people can go a whole 40 years like myself and have never seen the world, or faced great challenges to make them a stronger person? Then you have others who in their 40 years have been through so much and have come out a better person. They have gone out and seen the world, succeeded in their goals and in the end they have become a better person.

It is time for change and I think in all my heart that this is the man to do it. I think that Americans are ready for change because if we look back on going with the legacy individuals, the ones with so much experience in terms of years, just look at the state we are in now? The American Dollar is weak, people are losing their homes, losing their jos, lawlessness around the land ( Have you seen the crime rate, especially among our brothers who are murdering at daily rates ), it is time for a change. Can we do worse that the person who has been holding this office for eight years? I am sure that everyone no matter what your political party preference can answer this question very quickly. -THE MALE ROOM 2008

POWER STRUGGLES IN RELATIONSHIPS

We all have those moments where we have/want to PULL RANK. It could be for a variety of reasons. Catching feelings, trust issues, unresolved childhood issues, prior bad break-ups, a manipulative streak, just alot of reasons. POWER TRIPPING USUALLY ON THE WRONG PERSON HAPPENS ALOT BECAUSE MANY SEEK TO MAKE UP FOR THE ISSUES THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE CONTROL OVER BUT DON'T. If we are to ever find someone to share our lives with, if we ever want to have more peace than all the drama, we have to start making better decisions when it comes to loving and relating. Some of us brother's love to talk ourselves into thinking the single life is the way to go. If we are optimistic to finding 'the one', we have to be aware we may have friends who don't want to see us succeed at love. There are some lonely cats out here who are smooth enough to put the seed of doubt into our minds. It's not just the ladies doing it to their girlfriends. Sad state indeed. We talk ourselves into thinking we could disrupt our 'good thing' by letting someone get close. If that is the case, you are not too focused in on maintaing your so called good thing. For some, it might be fine wilding out in our 20's and early 30's but there will come a time where you are lying beside someone asking yourself, WHY THE HELL AM I HERE. Without rhyme or reason, you find someone who interest you. It's exciting at first and if you are not about maintaining, you can easily become bored, annoyed, easily led by friends to let the relationship go and (drumroll) begin the Power Struggle.

POWER STRUGGLES can be the death of any good relationship. Many try to pull rank on the person who is really trying to make things work, showing more feelings, being the bigger person. Many try to pull rank by disrespecting the other person, acting the victim, turning words around, SOMEBODY GROW UP PLEASE. If you are experiencing the female power struggle, then it's time for an immediate sit-down, resolve, or dismissal. Games for are children but let's face it, communication is not one of MAN'S STRONG POINTS. We tend to avoid 'the talks' and proceed with abandon, leaving the other totally frustrated. Sometimes you have to walk but resolve is the key to squashing what has gone wrong. Are you doing the power struggle? Are you putting her through some bullshit test? She might be walking quick partner.

With all the manipulating we can do to women, we sometimes end up manipulating ourselves. We can be our own worst enemy. We give all the attention to the woman in the beginning, she starts showing emotion and we pull back. Game. Could be game over. We fool ourselves to stay around those women who don't really give a damn about us, but they care about our status, our money, our sex, playing so innocent ( Watch your backs on those holy chicks ) not our innermost this and that and we're left feeling empty. We get caught up with women and become father's too soon before we are mature enough to handle the situation. We always play the blame game but never look back at ourselves. We have POWER STRUGGLES on our jobs, with our children, with the mother of our children, our friends, many don't want to bend. We break instead and later in some instances, we regret. Alot of people think those in the BROTHERHOOD don't have feelings. Sure we don't show them readily but we have them. Survival tactics, we like to say but it could be another form of a Power Struggle - not showing too much emotion. If anything is going to be a positive outcome, we have to just be honest about what we are doing, feeling and saying. Complete honesty leaves no room for unanswered questions. We must learn to seek higher ground away from third parties. From there we must find middle ground and related better. Too many of us aren't talking enough. You see an increase in divorce, a decrease in wanting to find a solid relationship, an increase of taking someone for granted, an increase in infidelity, an increase in secrets, an increase in purposely not doing something that could end the bad situations. When it comes to any form of manipulation, you have to find a way to break the cycle. POWER STRUGGLES have no place in any type relationships. There has to be a happy medium. She's pregnant, you are tired of coming home alone when you are tired of bringing home meaningless sleeping partners, she's a good good girl, your family is putting the pressure on. These are all the wrong reasons brother. First make sure you have a blood test to know if the child is yours and marrying for that reason in this day and age is simply stupid. You have to be happy with self first before anyone else so if you can't stand being alone by yourself you need to work on self first and then see what's up. Good girl? No such thing! You will be bored to death. Marry that one that can put it down in the bedroom, enhance your life with charm, wit and good times, holds a job, you will have a more exciting life than with the boring goody goody who in the end if you don't do what she wants now that she has you, she will not give up any ass. Family pressuring you? It may be time to make less visits around those naggers. Marriage is suppose to enhance the good thing you have going on with yourself. Marry your friend and lover, marry the one that compliments you and your style and don't rush the flow, enjoy life until you are close to 100% sure this is what you really want. No one is ever 100% sure, but when it feels right all the way round, go for it.

There is nothing like your ace! He is there for you all the time but still as we grow older, we develop relations with women, sometimes there is hate in our own camp. Whether you can pull the chick more than the rest or vica versa, you need to watch out for the haters in our camp. Never reveal all your biz to your boy on what is happening with you and the lady of choice. Never let your boy talk bad about the lady in your life. Watch the hate game and sabatoging of time with your lady. Once young but now grown. Who has time to spend with the boys all the time when they could be up in the zone... you feel me? Boss giving you a rough time? We've had those days and some days are harder than others! Unless you really don't give a damn, curse em out and prepare for unemployment. Best choice, state what is on your mind professionally, giving respect and accepting nothing less than respect in return. Times are hard these days.
